1. Purpose
This page explains how to report abuse involving domain names sponsored by DotWee Limited and how we handle abuse reports. Abuse includes phishing, malware, botnet command and control, pharming, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), illicit automation against services, and other illegal activity. We act promptly on well-founded reports in line with ICANN requirements, Hong Kong law, and applicable international standards.
2. How to report abuse
Use our online form for the fastest response:
Alternative contact methods, monitored 24/7:
- Abuse email: abuse@dotwee.com
3. What to include in your report
Include the domain name, a description of the activity, specific URLs or hostnames, time and timezone of observation, logs or screenshots if available, and your contact information. For urgent threats such as CSAM or active phishing attacks, clearly mark the report as URGENT.
4. Immediate action cases
We act immediately on:
- CSAM or exploitation content (reported to relevant law enforcement immediately)
- Active phishing campaigns
- Malware distribution
- Botnet command and control
- DNS abuse that directly threatens human safety or critical systems
5. Content we cannot control
DotWee is a domain registrar and does not directly host website content. For non-DNS abuse matters, such as disputes over legal content, reporters should contact the hosting provider. However, if such content also involves DNS abuse or violations of Hong Kong law, DotWee will take appropriate registrar action.
6. Our investigation process
We verify the report, assess technical evidence, contact the registrant when appropriate, and coordinate with hosting providers, registries, and law enforcement. We may apply holds or suspensions, lock domains to prevent transfer, or require remediation before reinstatement.
7. Law enforcement and urgent requests
Law enforcement agencies may use the abuse phone for urgent matters at any time. Include your agency name, case number, callback details, and the domain and facts at issue so we can prioritize the request.
8. Legal compliance
We do not tolerate any use of domain names that violates Hong Kong law or applicable international laws. Where required, we cooperate with law enforcement authorities.
9. Tracking and records
Each abuse report is tracked internally until resolution. We retain records in line with ICANN obligations and legal requirements.
10. Misuse of the abuse channel
Reports that are clearly unfounded, malicious, or abusive may be rejected. Repeated misuse can result in blocking the reporter.
11. Privacy
Personal data in abuse reports is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and used only for investigation, remediation, and compliance purposes.
12. Escalation
If you believe a report has not been handled appropriately after receiving our response, reply to the same ticket or email with the word Escalation in the subject and a brief explanation of your concern.
13. Trademark disputes (UDRP/URS)
Trademark disputes are not handled through our abuse channel. If you believe a domain name infringes your trademark, you must file a complaint through ICANN's formal dispute resolution processes:
- UDRP (Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy) — For cases of bad faith registration and use
- URS (Uniform Rapid Suspension) — For clear-cut trademark abuse in new gTLDs
Approved UDRP providers:
- WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center
- Forum (formerly National Arbitration Forum)
- Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre
- Czech Arbitration Court
When we receive notice of a UDRP or URS proceeding, we will lock the domain and implement the provider's decision as required by ICANN policy. For questions about ongoing proceedings, contact udrp@dotwee.com.
